The Sealing Process

The Driveway Doctor takes great pride in the fact that we are not spraying our product. Our workmanship is second to none and the sealer we use is the highest grade commercial sealer you will ever experience. We want to show you the difference between our company and our competition so please enjoy the following step by step process demonstration.

The Truck Setup

Our trucks carry 1000 litres of commercial grade sealer imported from the United States. Since our sealer is imported the availability of our product is exclusive to The Driveway Doctor in our listed service areas.

We fill buckets purchased from places like Home Depot or Rona from our 1000 litre tank.( Please note, the home depot buckets in this photo are simply empty pails and do not reflect the source of our sealer.)

Pouring The Sealer

Once we have filled the pails with our sealer we add a special blend of commercial chemicals that help increase the life of the sealer and the UV protection rating from the sun.

We then pour the sealer directly on the asphalt to be applied with our brooms.

Applying The Sealer

The application of our sealer is like no other. We do work the old fashioned way; hard work and manual labour.

By using our special brushes, we are able to ensure a thick coat of our sealer close to the edges of your asphalt without hitting any surrounding stonework, curbs, garage doors etc.

It takes skill and a trained eye to apply our sealer in a way that will ensure the protection of your asphalt for years to come.

Getting The Edge

Unlike our competitors our sealer is never sprayed. Applying our sealer with our brushes helps ensure a nice clean job with no mess on your stonework.

In this photo you can see our brush running the sealer along the edge of interlocking bricks without forming splatters.

Remember, no sprayed sealer will ever offer as clean and neat a job!

Soaking It All Up

After we get close to the edges we begin spreading the sealer. This causes the asphalt to soak up the sealer into the pores of the driveway. By filling the asphalt's pores with our sealer, water is unable to penetrate to the foundation which is what causes asphalt to sink and crack.

The Finishing Step

After the edges are done and the sealer is spread.

We then begin the process of "finishing".This process requires that we go back to the starting point and run our brushes back and forth to smooth the sealer out. Now the asphalt has a nice smooth texture and appearance.

The Final Touch

After we finish brushing the asphalt we take our service one step further.

We use a small paint brush to touch up any edges where we may not have gotten close enough to the sidewalk or curbs.

You will be hard pressed to find many other companies that will pay this much attention to detail.
